Traditional Southern Junctional pottery is my
passion with spillover to any handmade object.
Furniture, glass, letterpress, textiles, wood and
studio craft also come into the mix. I love to
be surrounded by beautiful, rich glazes,
natural materials and great, useful design.

When you say collecting we
say wood and Native
American arts. But really
we collect textures and
techniques we can't resist,
objects with character that
we want to live with.

My favorite of type of craft to collect is studio
blown glass. My husband and I started collecting
studio art glass in the early 7 0 s . Our collection is
extensive and includes early pioneers like William
Carlson and Kent Ibsen.Richard Jolley is now one of
our favorite artists.

Collecting works best for me when I have met
the artists/makers and seen them working
their craft. An object fascinates me when I
have seen its creator perform the magic of
conceiving and constructing it. While I have
some of most mediums, I seek out objects
with more than one medium incorporated.

I support American ceramics, fiber and mixed media
sculpture. I study ceramic and textile techniques for
pleasure. Currently my focus is the use of natural dyes.
Today I am wearing a jacket by Holly Badgley, a pin by
Reiko Ishiyama and a scarf by Juline Beier.
